In vitro fertilisation — IVF — is the most widely used assisted reproductive technology in the world. At its core, the process involves retrieving eggs from the ovaries, fertilising them with sperm in our laboratory, and transferring the resulting embryo back to the uterus. What happens in between — in the hands of a skilled embryologist, with the right equipment and the right level of care — is where outcomes are made.

At White Stork IVF, traditional IVF is overseen end-to-end by our resident senior embryologist, Vani, who is on-site every day. Your eggs, embryos, and the critical decisions around them never leave our hands or our lab. This continuity of care — from egg collection to transfer — is what we believe sets outcomes apart.

Our approach to conventional IVF always begins with understanding your specific situation. The protocol, the medication doses, the timing of transfer, and the number of embryos to transfer are all individual decisions — not defaults. Dr. Gunjan Kacker and her team will build your cycle around you.

The Process

How Traditional IVF works.

STEP 1

Ovarian stimulation

For 8–14 days, injectable hormonal medications encourage your ovaries to produce multiple mature follicles. Progress is monitored with regular ultrasound scans and blood tests.

STEP 2

Trigger injection

When follicles reach the right size, a trigger injection is given to prompt final egg maturation before retrieval.

STEP 3

Egg retrieval

Under light sedation, eggs are collected from the follicles using a fine needle guided by ultrasound. The procedure takes approximately 20–30 minutes.

STEP 4

Fertilisation

In our on-site lab, your eggs are combined with prepared sperm. Fertilisation is checked the following morning.

STEP 5

Embryo development

Embryos are cultured in our incubators for 3–5 days. Our embryologist monitors their development at each stage — assessing quality and selecting the best candidates for transfer.

STEP 6

Embryo transfer

The selected embryo is transferred to the uterus in a simple, painless procedure. A blood test approximately two weeks later confirms whether the transfer was successful.

STEP 7

Remaining embryos

Good-quality embryos that are not transferred can be frozen for use in future cycles, avoiding the need to repeat the full stimulation process.

At White Stork IVF

Many clinics offer 'IVF' at a headline price that excludes the laboratory, monitoring, or embryologist — leaving patients with a bill that is far larger than expected. At White Stork IVF, the price you are quoted is the price you pay. We believe that transparency about cost is part of the care we owe you.

Questions

Frequently asked questions.

What is the success rate of IVF at White Stork IVF?

IVF success rates depend on a woman's age, the quality of eggs and sperm, embryo quality, and individual medical factors. We provide honest, personalised success rate estimates based on your specific situation — not headline statistics that may not apply to you. We believe in giving you a realistic picture, not an optimistic one.

How many IVF cycles will I need?

Many patients achieve a pregnancy in the first or second cycle. However, it is realistic to prepare for the possibility of 2–3 cycles. Frozen embryos from the first cycle can be transferred without repeating the full stimulation, which significantly reduces cost and physical burden for subsequent attempts.

How long does the IVF process take from start to finish?

A single IVF cycle takes approximately 4–6 weeks from the start of stimulation to the pregnancy test. This includes 8–14 days of stimulation, the egg retrieval and fertilisation phase, 5 days of embryo culture, the transfer, and a two-week wait for the blood test.

Is IVF painful?

Most patients find the injections manageable with guidance and support. The egg retrieval is performed under sedation so you will not feel pain during the procedure. Some patients experience bloating and discomfort from the stimulated ovaries in the days before retrieval, and mild cramping after the transfer. Our team supports you through each stage.

Can I work during an IVF cycle?

Most patients continue working during IVF with modest adjustments for monitoring appointments and the day of egg retrieval. We work with your schedule and give you as much advance notice as possible for appointments. We recommend taking the day of retrieval and the day of transfer off work, though recovery is typically quick.
